DESCRIPTION:Nestled in the Rocky Mountains\, about 2 hours east of Grand Junction and 3 hours west of Denver\, lies a small running jewel called Gunnison\, Colorado. \nNearby to Black Canyon National Park\, the race is true to its name\, as the hills are covered in sage brush. The unique 360 degree views of the Maroon Bells\, San Juan Mountains\, and the Gunnison Basin\, make for a great day out on the trails. DESCRIPTION:Whether you run for a team\, as an individual\, or you just want to try out the experience of running a cross country race\, you are welcome to join us for the 2026 Elevated XC Showdown! Boys/Girls will run in combined races\, and will be separated by age groups below.  All courses utilize the same start/finish area. The 2k is entirely on grass\, while the 3k/4k are a mixture of grass and hard packed gravel with a couple short crossings over asphalt (1-lane road). All courses are flat and VERY spectator friendly.
