5k Your Way
Have you always wanted to complete a 5k “one day?” Make one day TODAY! The Topo Athletic 5k Your Way is a free six-week course is a low-pressure training environment for any walker, runner, or run-walker participating in the Golden Gallop 5k on Sept. 17, 2023. Sign up here.
Learn about pacing, injury prevention, goal-setting, and more! Coach Laura will begin each one-hour class with a brief talk about the week’s training topic before leading the group on a guided run-walk on the streets and paved trails around Runners Roost Golden. You’ll get a six-week training plan and a weekly recap with unlimited communication with Coach Laura between classes.
Cost: FREE thanks to our generous sponsor, Topo Athletic! All participants who attend at least five classes will be entered to win a free pair of shoes from Topo!
The course includes:
- A guided walk-run each week with Coach Laura at Runners Roost Golden
- 6-week walk-run training plan to complete a 5k at your most comfortable pace
- Private community for program participants (e.g. Slack channel or Facebook group)
- Gentle introduction to running in a low-pressure, inclusive environment with a community of other beginner or slow runners and walkers
Dates: Thursdays at 6 p.m., beginning August 10. The last day of the course is September 14, the Thursday before the Golden Gallop. We’ll celebrate at Golden Mill afterward!
Location: Runners Roost Golden.
Requirements: The ability to walk for 20-30 minutes outside comfortably. There will be no weight-loss or dieting focus in this course. All bodies, sizes, and paces are welcome.
