Runners Roost Stapleton Grand Opening Furry Friends FriYAY!

Our Stapleton doors are opening very soon!! We are stoked to start sharing all the activities we have planned as part of our Grand Opening celebration. The Grand Opening will be Thursday, March 15 through Sunday, March 18th.

On Friday, March 16th, bring your favorite running partner from 5pm – 7pm for a Furry Friends Photo Shoot sponsored by Adidas! Pet photographer Sean McNeil will be with us taking free photos of you and your pet (or just your pet if you wish).

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Sean enjoys spending time outdoors with his girlfriend and their two dogs -hiking, biking, fishing and running. This will be his third season as a member of our Runners Roost Race Team and will be training to complete his second marathon in NYC. He is a photographer by day specializing in family and dog portraits and enjoys photographing landscapes in his free time. Sean was named “Best Pet Photographer” in Denver and his work has been featured in galleries in the Santa Fe Arts District and shared on numerous social media sites. Just recently he released his third edition of Dogs of Denver Coffee Table Book which he used to raise over $76k for the Dumb Friends League! Sean always has a camera in his hand and finds joy in telling a story through a single picture.

Also joining us for the evening will be pro athlete Neely Spence Gracey! Neely was born into this sport, literally. Her dad (Steve Spence, 1992 Olympic marathoner and 1991 World Champs Bronze Medalist) was running the Boston Marathon on the day she was born. She grew up in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and in 8th grade set some big goals for herself.

While running for Shippensburg University, Neely broke Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) records, won 17 PSAC titles, and was named the conference athlete of the year for every season while at Shippensburg from 2008 to 2011. She is an eight-time NCAA DII Champion and still holds two NCAA records.

In 2016, Neely debuted at the Boston Marathon and was the first American finisher in 2:35. Later that year, she took it a step further with a 2:34 and 8th place finish at the NYC marathon. In 2017, Neely clocked victories at Rock ‘n Roll’s Arizona, New Orleans, and Chicago Half Marathons and was Runner-Up at the USA half marathon and 25k Championship races. She is excited for what the next year will bring as she pauses from her running career to start a family. She ultimately hopes to build towards the 2020 Olympic year.

Today, Neely lives in Boulder, CO with her husband Dillon and their Vizsla, Strider. They are happily entrenched in the running community. Between training, and competing, she enjoys coaching her team of athletes through her Get Running coaching business.

It will be an evening you won’t want to miss….FriYAY! So on March 16th, bring your furry running partner at 5pm with a smile, shop our brand new location, and meet pet photographer Sean McNeil and pro athlete Neely Spence Gracey with her dog Strider. Plus starting on Thursday, March 15th, we will giving a gift with purchase to the first 100 customers who spend $50 or more, with surprise raffle prizes attached! Stay tuned for more Grand Opening announcements. We can’t wait to see you there!
